Oyster Creek man jailed on forgery charge
MANVEL — A stop at a bank drive-through led to the arrest of an Oyster Creek man police said was carrying counterfeit money and trying to cash a forged check.

MANVEL — City Council wanted to seek a loan for a new city hall and expanded library, but voters wanted a say. Residents will get a chance to decide whether the projects move forward when they head to the polls on Nov. 3 to consider a $2.5 million bond issue.

Manvel HS auditorium has open house
The 26,100-square-foot Manvel High School auditorium is the last piece of the second phase of the school’s construction, which also included additional classrooms. The $20.7 million second phase was funded by bonds approved by Alvin ISD voters in 2005 and will increase student capacity by 1,000.
