Betty and Larry Potter celebrated their 50th anniversary on December 18, 2015.

“Betty” Lynn Engle and James “Larry” Potter were married December 18, 1965, in Houston, TX. They were married at Fairbanks UMC by Reverend Herman Millican and Revered Joe B. Wells. Larry is originally from Chattanooga, TN, and Betty grew up in Cypress, TX. They met while attending college at SHSU in Huntsville, TX. They have lived in Lake Jackson their entire married life. He is a retired Dow Chemical research manager and she is a BISD retired teacher who taught at Velasco and Brannen Elementaries. They have one son, James “Ryan” Potter and wife Nicole; two grandsons Alex and Nick Potter who reside in Cypress, TX. They are blessed by a loving family, many dear friends, and a deep faith.

Celebration of their anniversary began with a cruise to the British Isles and parts of Europe in May. Other events will be shared throughout the coming year with family and friends. What a wonderful example they are of a strong and committed couple.
