Mr. and Mrs. Mike and Lisa Brannan of Lake Jackson, Texas and Mr. David Lummus, of Houston, Texas, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Melissa Lyn, to Jason William Gigax, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gigax of Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Melissa is the granddaughter of Mrs. Sylvia McIntyre of Lake Jackson and Mrs. Sonia Lummus of Somerville and the late Mr. Bill McIntyre and Mr. Bill Lummus.

She is a graduate of Brazoswood High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Film Production with a Minor in Theater from Belmont University. After graduation, she studied Comedic Writing and Performance at Second City Training Center and IO Chicago in Chicago. She is employed at NC2 Media, serving as Production Coordinator for Lonely Planet’s video platform and also works as a freelance writer, producer and performer in film and stage. She resides in Nashville.

Her fiancé is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Russell McConnell and Mrs. Yvonne Gigax Angell. A graduate of Hendersonville High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Recording Industry with a concentration in Music Business from Middle Tennessee State University. Post-graduation, he managed pop group “How I Became the Bomb” and transitioned into managing and scouting locations for film and television for his company, Gigax Locations, in Nashville.

Melissa and Jason plan to be married in October at The Cordelle in Nashville, Tennessee. In addition, a reception will be held in the bride’s home state of Texas in November.
