On March 14th, 2019, Christy Oktusha Williams and Joe Lee Saavedra III were united in the holy sacrament of marriage at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, in Casteries, St. Lucia with the support of their home parish of St. Michael the Archangel of Lake Jackson, Texas. The service was officiated by Rev. Fr. Cecil Goodman. Miss Christy was given in marriage by Mandie & Ryan Boudreaux.
Christy O. Williams is the daughter of Susan Paige Baker of Angleton and Thomas Ray Smith of Vicksburg, MS. She attended Angleton High School, Sullivan North High School, and graduated from East Tennessee State University. Christy has worked as a Deaf Interpreter, Sp. Ed. Teacher, and a Document Technician.
Joe L. Saavedra III is the son of Linda Rye (Arismendez) of Lake Jackson and Joe Lee Saavedra II, stepson to Sherri Saavedra of Richwood. He attended B.F.Terry High School, Brazoswood High School, Brazosport College, and NCCER Training Center. He has worked as a Lab Tech, Supervisor, and a Distribution Operator.
The family created by this union blessed by God, include the couple’s children: Christina Williams, Richmond, 23; Reese Williams, Mt Carmel, TN, 19; Angelica Saavedra, Clute, 18; Jared Williams, Mt Carmel, TN, 17; Victoria Williams, Clute, 14; Ashton Saavedra, Clute, 14; and Jaden Saavedra, Clute, 4.
A reception with close friends and family will be hosted at Live Oak Haven in West Columbia, with musical entertainment provided by DJ-Solar Entertainment.
