Sarah Emily Raska and Michael Benjamin Wilson were united in marriage on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 5 p.m. at the home of the bride’s parents near Brazoria. The Rev. Kristi Blankman, a college classmate of the bride, officiated. She was assisted by Mr. Emory Glover, the officiant at the wedding of the bride’s parents.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents, Gene and Ginny Raska. She is a graduate of Sweeny High School and of Schreiner University in Kerrville and is employed on the family ranch. The groom is a graduate of Burnet High School and is employed at Lowe’s of Lake Jackson. His parents are Ed Wilson of Austin and the late Linda Espinosa, formerly of Marble Falls.
Phoebe Measells of Lake Jackson was the matron of honor and the groom’s niece and nephew, Elli & Dylan Wilson, served as flower girl and ring bearer. The groom’s brother, Walter Wilson of Granite Shoals, was the best man. Dr. Andrew Sullivan, cousin of the bride, was the soloist.
The bride wore a tea-length gown of ivory illusion with beaded lace appliques and carried a bouquet of lavender calla lilies. The couple said their vows under a rustic arbor constructed by the groom. The reception was held in the garden with alfresco dining under a wedding tent, followed by dancing. The happy couple will take a brief trip to Camp Creek and plan a longer honeymoon trip to Lake Tahoe when work schedules permit. They will be making their home in Sweeny.
