FREEPORT — City Council approved unanimously Monday the hiring of Kennemer, Masters and Lunsford LLC to audit fiscal year 2008-09. The city will pay $32,810 — $24,910 for the city’s books and $7,960 for the Freeport Economic Development Corp.

ALVIN — The YMCA honored Wendy Del Bello of Friendswood as a “Volunteer of the Year” during its annual celebration in Houston on Nov. 12. Del Bello was one of 37 volunteers from throughout Texas to receive the honor.
