BAY CITY — Authorities arrested a 27-year-old man who police said stabbed four people, injuring three and killing one, on Sunday morning.
Bay City police arrested Kleon Dashawn Howell about 9 p.m. Sunday on one charge of murder, one charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon-family violence, according to the Matagorda County law enforcement agency’s Facebook page.
Details on where Howell was arrested were not immediately available.
The police department issued a warrant for his arrest after officers arrived before noon at the Bay Breeze Apartments in the 800 block of Avenue F, responding to a 911 call about a man with a knife, A Bay City police news release states. The suspect had reportedly left the scene on foot before police arrived.
The police report states officers found two victims on the property with stab wounds, with a third victim soon emerging from a nearby apartment.
One victim was taken to Matagorda Regional Medical Center, while the other two were flown by medical helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.
A fourth victim, 27-year-old Joe Junior Parada of Bay City, was found on the floor inside the apartment, and was pronounced dead at the scene, the report states.
No other details were released due to the ongoing investigation. Messages left with Bay City police seeking further information were not returned in time for this report.
