Seniors invited to Thanksgiving meal

Seniors are invited to the B.R. Hester Event Center at Clute Municipal Park for the inaugural Thanksgiving Feast for Senior Citizens from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 21.

Those in attendance can enjoy activities, have lunch and help plan the new seniors program being implemented by the Clute Parks and Recreation Department. The event is free to Clute-area seniors 60 and older.

"This program will serve to provide a place where seniors can gather for social events, recreational and other fun activities," said Will Blackstock the Clute Parks and Recreations director. "The benefits of providing these services has been proven again and again to improve overall health and quality of life. We look forward to hosting our kickoff event and getting feedback from the community to help develop this exciting new program.”

Those wishing to attend should RSVP by Nov. 15 to the Clute Parks and Recreation Department at 979-265-8392.
