ACC Awarded Power Grant from TNMP

The Alvin Community College Foundation received a Texas-New Mexico Power Grant to improve safety. The $9,750 grant will go toward an initiative to improve security on campus that includes 40 new, enhanced lock systems. The new locks will allow people inside a room to lock the door more securely in the event of an emergency situation. “The Foundation’s purpose for the grant project was to improve safety across ACC’s main campus from violent intruders,” Foundation Executive Director Wendy Del Bello said. “The acquisition and use of these locking systems is making our campus safer and providing a greater sense of comfort to the minds of students and employees in their daily lives at ACC.” To learn more about the TCMP Power Grant program, visit
