Sweeny FFA participated in the Waller County Livestock Judging Contest on Oct. 4. The seniors won first place out of 97 teams and the junior team took second place.

Senior participants were Casie Byrd, Adie Alford, Bry Hardin, Bailey Trcka, Avery Trcka, and Madi Hubbard. Sandy placed second out of 322, Byrd placed ninth, Kyler placed 13th and Bailey Trcka placed 82nd.

In senior individuals, Bry Hardin placed 43rd.

Intermediate Team A placed 12th out of 28 teams. Participants included Kylee Hardin, Lane Bronikowsky, Kaylee Zimmerman, and Nash Smith. Hardin placed 23rd out of 88, Bronikowsky placed 29th, Zimmerman placed 49th and Nash Smith placed 78th.

Intermediate Team B placed 21st. Participants included Kaci McCullough, Kace Bronikowsky and Hayden Herzog. McCullough placed 41st, Bronikowsky placed 69th and Herzog placed 81st.

JR Team placed second out of 14 teams. Participants were Natalee Hardin, Kash Morrison, Braxton Mills, and Wade McCullough. Hardin placed second out of 34, Morrison placed 11th, Mills placed 15th and McCullough placed 19th.

The teams were coached by Sweeny High School Ag teacher Scott Jones and parent volunteer Chad Herzog.
