Angela Marie Schneider weds John Thomas Suggs IV

In the presence of God and among loving friends and family members, John Thomas Suggs IV and Angela Marie Schneider publicly proclaimed their love and lifelong commitment to one another and were pronounced husband and wife March 14, 2009, on the Plaza of the Lake Jackson Civic Center.

The wedding was hosted by the groom’s parents, John and Cindy Suggs, with special guests including the bride’s grand- mother Glenda Schneider; grandfather Robert Dunn; uncle Jimmy Hannah and special family friend Stanley Guest. Other special guests included the groom’s grandparents, Bettie and Allen Decker, and Karen and Tommy Suggs; grandmother, Kay Giles; the groom’s great-aunt, JoMarie Reed; and great-uncle, Louis Jones. Grandparents and special guests were seated to “Green Sleeves.”

The bride arrived at the ceremony in a horse-drawn carriage to the tune of “Going to the Chapel,” and was escorted to her future husband by their children, Launa Marie and John V “Boss.” The wedding was officiated by the groom’s grandfather, Allen Decker, and attended by maid of honor, Shauna Suggs, sister of the groom; bridesmaids, Adrian Suggs Copeland, sister of the groom; Angie Jimenez, and Alice Malmstrom, friends of the bride.

Attending the groom was his best man and father, John III; and close friends Lee Johnson, Daniel Dansby and Jared Wisch served as groomsmen. Mother of the groom was seated to the song “Simple Man,” and escorted by ushers Tobin Copeland, her son-in-law and brother-in-law of the groom, and Mashad Collier, future son-in-law and friend of the groom.

The bride wore a floor-length gown of white organza and silk, featuring a gathered bodice and removable, chapel-length train. The bridesmaids wore off-the-shoulder tea-pink gowns, carrying matching umbrellas. The groom donned a classic white tuxedo accented by an eggplant purple hand-tailored dress shirt, while his groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos with tea-pink dress shirts. The ceremonial flowers were pink and purple daylilies accented by baby’s breath. The bride’s ensemble was “something new,” her garter was “something blue,” her pearl and diamond earrings were “something borrowed” and an antique engagement ring belonging to her future grandmother-in-law was something “old.”

Immediately following the ceremony, the couple along with family and friends enjoyed a reception inside the Civic Center that included dinner, dancing and live music.

As John and Angela celebrate their six-month anniversary, they would like to send a special “thank you” to everyone who attended their wedding, particularly as they endured the unusually cold temperatures amid a steady rainfall (albeit under a tent). They would especially like to thank those who lent a helping hand and made their wedding and reception a wonderful event: Bridgette and Al Percle; Chris and Sammy Knox; Linda and David Flowers; Bobby Woodruff; Carly and Jeremy New; Amanda and Bradley Reich; Moran, Marilyn and Miron Collier; Courtney Johnson; and of course, their loving families.

“Even though it was 45 degrees and raining, our wedding day couldn’t have been more special. We wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you so much for the love and support you showed us, and for being a part of what will forever be a magical memory for both of us.” — Angie and Jody
