Howland 60th Anniversary

Maurine and Marvin Howland of Angleton celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary September 3, 2009. They were married on September 3, 1949, in Rio Hondo, Texas. Maurine and Marvin have lived in Angleton since 1955. Mrs. Howland is the former Maurine West of Harlingen, Texas.

Marvin worked for the Dow Chemical Company in the Glycerine department for 36 years, retiring in 1991. Maurine devoted herself to raising their four children and continues enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Their four children are Don and wife Mary Howland, Patti and husband Terry Eberspacher of Angleton, Denise and husband Leslie Stroud, Peggy and husband David Fritz of Lake Jackson.

They have 11 grandchildren who are: TSgt. David and wife Stacy Eberspacher of Offutt AFB, Nebraska, Paul and wife Barbara Eberspacher, Lisa and husband James Hicks of Angleton, Melissa and husband Nick Elster of Damon, Matthew and wife Jessica Howland of Angleton, Sarah and husband Matthew Wicke of Pearland, John Stroud of Lake Jackson, Michael and Daniel Fritz of Austin and Rebecca and Jessica Fritz of Lake Jackson.

Maurine and Marvin also have eight great-grandchildren. They are Brandon Eberspacher of Pearland, Anna Eberspacher of Offutt AFB, Nebraska, Jonathan and Lauren Eberspacher of Angleton, Nathan and Cade Elster of Damon, Brandi Hicks and Kirsten Howland of Angleton.

A celebration luncheon was held in their honor on September 12.
