Tanya Lisa Trevino weds Justin Michael McCoy
Tanya Lisa Trevino of Lake Jackson and Justin Michael McCoy of Angleton were married on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. The officiating minister was Father Leo.
The bride is the daughter of Jose R. and Balbina Trevino of Lake Jackson.
The groom is the son of Melvin and Sheri McCoy of Angleton.
The bride is a 2006 Texas State University graduate and is currently working as a Certified Opthalmic Assistant for Dr. W.H. Quayle of Houston Eye Associates. The groom is a 2009 Brazosport College graduate and is currently working as a Network and Systems Administrator for Gulf Chemical and Metallurgical Corporation.
The maid of honor was Amanda Martinez of Odem, Texas (cousin of the bride). The best man was Jesse Sosa of Angleton (groom’s best friend). The bridesmaid was Hannah Perry of Lake Jackson (best friend of the bride) and the groomsman was Ryan McCoy of Angleton (brother of the groom).
The dress the bride wore was a custom-made silk twill dress in a candlelight white. The dress was made by a family friend in New York. Tanya had inherited handmade lace appliqués from her paternal grandmother and wanted to honor her memory by using them on her dress. The dress has a slight sweetheart neckline with an empire waist adorned by Swarovski crystals; the back has a V-neckline with handmade buttons going down to a full train with Shantung ruffles in a champagne color. The ruffles are lined with the appliqués. The bride’s something old was the appliqués. Her something new was the beautiful, custom-made Swarovski crystal necklaces made by the bride’s brother, Rene Trevino. Her something borrowed was a small medallion of the Virgin Mary lent to her by her brother. Something blue were small beads on the back of her necklaces and she had a sixpence in her right shoe.
The maid of honor and bridesmaid wore cocktail-length red satin and organza dresses with yellow trim.
The groom was wearing a black on black pinstripe tuxedo with a candlelight solid vest and paisley tie.
The best man and groomsman were wearing black on black tuxedos with solid black vests, red paisley ties and a yellow pocket square.
The mother of the bride was wearing a custom-made knee-length orange silk dress with a red sheer floral jacket. The mother of the groom was wearing a red charmeuse halter dress and empire waist and flirty skirt.
Family friend Katie Burchfield lent her talents and played the organ prior to the ceremony. The bride’s three cousins, Sarah, Anna and Maggie Soto, provided the vocals for the ceremony.
The readings for the ceremony were done by Justin’s Aunt Shelley McCoy of Lake Jackson, and Tanya’s Aunt Dolores Hinojosa of Odem, TX.
Decorations included pew markers in red, orange and yellow flowers, altar arrangement, candelabras and a unity candle.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The RiverPlace in Freeport.
The reception was decorated with various sized arrangements of red, orange and yellow to capture the fire theme of the wedding on white table cloths covered in an organza overlay. After a honeymoon to St. Lucia the couple now resides in Lake Jackson.
