Nikki Marlise Prescott weds Ehren Linn Scherwitz
Saturday, August 15, 2009, at eleven in the morning, Nikki Marlise Prescott was joined in holy matrimony with Ehren Linn Scherwitz, her friend and boyfriend for the past three years. The ceremony was held at the scenic Shepard Hill Estate in Willis, Texas, with 125 guests in attendance.
Ehren’s brother-in-law, Timothy Pinkard, served as the officiant. Megan Scherwitz was maid of honor, and Philip Clark was best man. Brittany Miller and Emily Scherwitz were bridesmaids, and Eisen Scherwitz and Cory Broussard were groomsmen. Nikki’s good friends, Chess Cavitt and Melodie Chandler, read from the Bible, and Alice Lothman, Nikki’s friend and roommate, sang “How Beautiful“ during the lighting of the unity candle.
The bridesmaids wore black cocktail dresses unique to their personalities and carried red roses and carnations. The groomsmen wore black and white tuxes with red ties and boutonnieres, while Ehren wore an all black tux with a red tie and handkerchief. Nikki’s dress was a white chiffon empire gown with silver and rhinestone beading. Nikki carried red roses and carnations with white alstroemeria, symbolizing admiration, passion, friendship and devotion. All the flowers for the wedding were designed and supplied by Shepard Hill in Huntsville, Texas. The wedding cake was made by Sweets to Dream On in Conroe, and consisted of three white tiers with intricate red scrolling and red rose petals.
Upon sealing their vows, Nikki and Ehren exchanged a band of yellow and white gold with beautiful engraving, and an antique platinum band with dazzling diamonds, an heirloom of his great grandmother’s, given to Ehren by his parents for his wedding day.
The mother and father of the bride, Janey and Bob Prescott, looked especially elegant in a white and gold dress and a black tux with a red tie and boutonniere. Nikki’s father gave her away with a kiss.
Nikki graduated from Brazoswood High School in 2005, and from Sam Houston State in May 2009, with an English degree. She is the granddaughter of Dorothy Johnston and Bonnie Prescott.
The bride and groom wish to express their special thanks to their mothers and fathers for their love and support. Their appreciation goes out to all who made the wedding possible, either by creating, facilitating or giving of their time to join with them on that day. But they especially extend their gratitude to the four people who have given of themselves for the past 22 and 25 years to make them who they are today, and to their loving Father who brought them together so that they will never part, and for whom they constantly strive.
