Deadline Friday for grant applications

Educators with innovative ways to teach area youngsters math and science but not the means to bring those ideas to the classroom have one more day to apply for grants from a local petrochemical company.
The submission deadline is Friday for the Dow Texas Operations Education Grant program, which offers teachers grants of up to $10,000 for school programs or projects involving math or science.
Teachers from Angleton, Brazosport, Columbia-Brazoria, Danbury and Sweeny ISDs, as well as southern Brazoria County private and parochial schools are eligible to apply for the grants.
