QUESTION: I live on Alexander Court in Angleton. I have noticed everyone’s sidewalks either are sinking are being pushed up until it is dangerous to walk in some areas. My sidewalk has sunk 2 inches on either side of my driveway just this year.
Who is responsible for the maintenance of the sidewalks in my neighborhood? This is not just on our street, it is a real problem throughout Angleton.
ANSWER: Any sidewalks that are in city right of way are the responsibility of the City of Angleton.
Residents can report these problems either by calling the City of Angleton at (979) 849-4364 and reporting the location to the Public Works Department or online by visiting the city’s Web site, www.angleton.tx.us, clicking on the “We Listen” site and putting in their information. The information will go the Public Works Department.
