CLUTE
BISD might name natatorium
Brazosport ISD trustees are set to discuss naming the Brazosport High School natatorium after Robert “Bob” Leffingwell when they meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the administration building, 301 West Brazoswood Drive.
Leffingwell was a longtime swimming and diving coach for the school.
The board also will consider final approval for naming the Brazoswood field house after Bill Poland.
FREEPORT
Council to discuss police grant
City Council will discuss grant funding for Freeport police when it meets at 6 p.m. Monday in the first-floor municipal courtroom at the Freeport Police Station, 430 N. Brazosport Blvd.
The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant program awarded $31,000 to the department, which hopes to use the money to buy new video technology for nine police cruisers, acting City Manager and Police Chief Jeff Pynes said.

LAKE JACKSON
Utility relocation deal on agenda
Lake Jackson City Council will discuss awarding a contract to Matula and Matula Construction to relocate utilities along Highway 332 when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 25 Oak Drive.
The relocation will cost about $711,000 and is being done in preparation of the Highway 332 expansion, which is scheduled to begin in late summer.
