Clerk hit with handguns during robbery
Published November 25, 2009
ROSHARON — A convenience store clerk suffered a gash to the forehead after three men reportedly robbed the store in which he was working and two hit him on the head with handguns.
The Angleton man, 38, was taken by ambulance to Angleton Danbury Medical Center where he was treated and released late Monday night, according to a news release from the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office.
Three men entered the store at the intersection of FM 521 and FM 1462 in Rosharon about 11 p.m. Monday, sheriff’s investigator Chris Dubois said. Police responded to an alarm from the 24-hour establishment.
“The clerk complied with every request, and they still assaulted him with handguns,” Dubois said.
Surveillance video shows the clerk was hit with a pair of pistols, Dubois said. He was not shot.
There was no one else in the store at the time and the clerk was not bound, Dubois said. Police would not say how much money was taken.
The suspects wore long-sleeved clothing, masks and gloves, according to the news release. One suspect wore tan pants and a black hooded jacket and the other two wore blue pants and gray, hooded jackets.
Police do not have a further description but are reviewing the surveillance tape, Dubois said.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call the sheriff’s office at 281-756-2392 or 979-864-2392.
