Inez Elizabeth Clifford Perkins

Inez Elizabeth Clifford Perkins of Lake Jackson made a peaceful journey home to her Lord on Saturday, October 31, 2009, at Brazosport Regional Health System following a brief illness. She was 91 years old. She was born to Pearl and Louis Bailey in Malvern, Arkansas, on July 17, 1918. She spent her childhood in El Paso, Texas, and had resided in Lake Jackson for the past 56 years.

Inez was employed with BISD food department for many years, and eventually went to work for the Canteen Corporation at the Dow cafeteria until her retirement in 1985. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson and loved reading and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence E. Perkins; one daughter, Shirley Clifford Bryan; sisters, Vinita Welch and Vivian Roberts; and her brother, Raymond Bailey.

Left behind to cherish her memory are daughters, Peggy Clifford Grant (Ken), Debbie Clifford Hinkle (Billy), and son, Starlin “Buddy” Clifford (Judy); and seven grandchildren, Michelle Clifford McEntire (fiancé, Mike Slater), Kristi Clifford Susen (Philip), Kim Grant Bowlin (John), Jeff Grant, Lisa Bryan Bernard (Steven), Paul Bryan and Bradley Hinkle (Heidi). Inez also was the proud MeMe of seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral services to be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2009, at the new Restwood Funeral Home.

Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2009.
