Judith “Judy” Burford Barnes

Judy Barnes, 63, of Angleton, Texas, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at her home on Sunday, November 1, 2009.

Judy was born in Houston, Texas, on December 28, 1945, and was a graduate of John Foster Dulles High School, class of 1964. She worked for many years at Intermedics in Freeport and Angleton. She was much-loved and much-appreciated by the many people whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hiram and Bessie Burford; two brothers, Davey Lee and Weldon Burford; and Royall Link Stanaland III, her beloved son-in-law who meant the world to her.

Judy is survived by three daughters, Kelly Anne Harvill (James Harvill), Allison Barnes and Janet Lynn Stanaland. She also had four grandsons, Alexander Barnes Pennington, Seth Harlan Pennington, James Bradley Stanaland and Ryan Lee Stanaland; and a great-granddaughter, Alexia (Lexi) Marie Pennington. She also is survived by her two sisters who loved their “baby sister” and gave her great comfort in the months before her passing, Betty Lou Davis (Jimmy Davis) and their children, Douglas and Rhonda, and Dorothy Sue Mowery (Curtis Joe Mowery) and their children, Curt and Rodney; Ray Dube, her “honorary son”; and best friend, Leah Sprague.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, November 7, 2009, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at 908 Heritage Oaks in Angleton, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Judy’s memory to The Hospice Care Team, 107 West Way, Suite 29, Lake Jackson, TX 77566-5238.
