Alvin college regents take oath of office

ALVIN — Incumbent Alvin Community College regents James DeWitt, Bel Sanchez and Doyle Swindell took the oath of office for another term during a board meeting May 22.

DeWitt secured a six-year term to the board by winning 60 percent of the vote in the May 12 election against challenger Ted Kalivoda, who received 39 percent. Sanchez and Swindell ran unopposed in the election.
