Driver’s arrest made at gunpoint
The driver of a black Dodge Challenger was taken into custody at gunpoint Friday afternoon on an outstanding warrant, police said.
Eight patrol units representing Lake Jackson, Clute and Freeport police and the Precinct 1 constable’s office stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Basswood Drive and the Highway 332 feeder road about 2 p.m. Friday, Lake Jackson Police Lt. Roy Welch said.
“A male subject was taken into custody for a felony gun violation and was also in possession of a stolen firearm,” Welch said.
The warrant was issued by Lake Jackson police, he said.
The man’s name is being withheld because he has not been charged and the investigation is ongoing, Welch said.
