It has long been a tradition for American Legion veterans in rehabilitation to make red crepe paper poppies, a symbol of remembrance. Legion members take the poppies and distribute them across the country in an effort to collect donations for veteran support services.

American Legion Post 241 members will be handing out poppies at 9 a.m. Saturday, Cmdr. John Rice said.
