Editor’s note: This column is reprinted from the March 12, 2011, edition of The Facts.

I’m seeing a precocious 9-year-old girl who is ever-so entertaining. For example, at one appointment, her parents needed time with me to talk about a problem that didn’t pertain to her. She waited in the lobby as minutes slipped by. She knew she was losing counseling time, and she loves to come to counseling.
