LAKE JACKSON — The lights dim and the bright stars align on the walls, part of an ongoing event at the BASF Planetarium that takes both a scientific and historical view at Christmas.

“Season of Light” is a full-dome show that explores why people are fascinated with lighting up the homes for the holiday season, said Kristina Denoncourt, board president at the BASF Planetarium.
