The recognition they received comes with a check, but more importantly, it also is a show of appreciation, Brazoswood High School senior Cade Stroud said.

Stroud, 18, and Brazoswood junior Allie Habeck, 16, each received a $500 check from the Taylor Whitley Show Up Foundation for the outstanding work they have done for their community. The award is based on the character of the recipient, not academic achievement, foundation founder Shannon Whitley said.
