Downtown Lake Jackson Construction Plan

Assistant City Manager Modesto Mundo discusses the city’s downtown renovation plans with former mayor Joe Rinehart in 2015. The city plans to build a section of covered parking along South Parking Place that also can be used by the public as a pavilion to host events or a farmers market.

LAKE JACKSON — After vetting him during a two-hour interview, Lake Jackson City Council decided the assistant city manager of 25 years will become the city manager upon Bill Yenne’s impending retirement.

Modesto Mundo will become city manager once Yenne retires Aug. 31, and contract details have not been finalized, Yenne said.
