This pavilion is one of the amenities proposed for the new Lakeside Park in Angleton.

ANGLETON — Whether the waterbody at the center of the planned Lakeside Park is a retention pond or eponymous lake is up for debate.

There are no hard and fast definitions for lakes and ponds, but regardless, Angleton City Council members got a better look at how the body of water and the park around it will look during a presentation at a recent council special meeting.
