ANGLETON — After being arrested last month as a suspect in the hit-and-run death of a pedestrian, Joseph Lewis has been indicted by a Brazoria County grand jury.

Lewis, 30, was arrested at his Freeport home Aug. 26 on charges related to the death of 71-year-old Linda K. Simmons, whose body investigators found on the side of Highway 288-B in Clute in the early hours of Aug. 21, according to a probable cause affidavit.
