FREEPORT — Police Chief Raymond Garivey feared he might not ever see his home again after his battle with COVID-19 led him under hospital care.

“You see the stories of people passing away in the hospital from COVID, and it was a rude awakening,” Garivey said. “I was worried that I might not be going home.”
