LAKE JACKSON — Brazos Mall’s two newest stores, T.J. Maxx and HomeGoods, opened Sunday, marking the start of a shopping frenzy and bringing an end to months of anticipation due to hurricane-related delays.

Well before the sun came up Sunday, lines of shoppers began to wrap around the red facades of the clothing and home decor stores, which share a common space formerly occupied by Sears on the mall’s southeast end and are run by the same parent firm, TJX Companies.
