Sweeny Community Hospital vaccines

Infection Prevention Manager Misty Linnett administers the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine Wednesday to Sweeny Junior High math teacher Tammi Homniok at Sweeny Community Hospital. The hospital began administering vaccines to Sweeny ISD and Columbia-Brazoria ISD school nurses last week.

At 91 years old, Virginia Penrose qualifies as a priority to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. But she cannot find a facility to provide her one, she said.

“I’ve called the hospitals, the doctors’ offices, the Angleton health department at the courthouse and no one seems to know anything,” Penrose said. “I’ve called everybody that I thought of and it’s been zero.”
