About 10,000 more residents this year protested the Brazoria County Appraisal District’s preliminary property values than in recent years, the district reported.

The county appraisal district received about 45,000 protests from property owners who believed their preliminary values to be unfair before the June 3 deadline, Brazoria County Chief Appraiser Cheryl Evans said.
