Kittens will be popular at today's Mad Cattery event, but half-price adoptions are being offered for adult cats.

LAKE JACKSON — Last year’s kitten season brought 1,100 through local SPCA facilities, and it’s that time of year again.

“Cats come in every single day,” SPCA board member Nikki Hardesty said. “By the end of it, we’ll probably have several hundred cats and kittens coming through our shelter, and they’re all gonna need good homes.”
