Educational diagnostician F.J. Jones and court clerk Sarah Linder are competing to be the first new judge to oversee the Justice of the Peace Precinct 4, Place 1 court in 24 years.

Jones, 41, the Democratic nominee, moved to Rosharon in 2004. She has a bachelor’s degree in behavioral and social science, a master’s in education and a certification in school counseling, she said. She and her husband of 17 years have two children.
