When there is a spree of car burglaries, the first line thing police officers usually point out is those burglars targeted easy prey. They go down a street or through a parking lot lifting door handles to see which open, then rummage through the ones that do for anything valuable.

It is amazing the valuables they find, too — computers, handguns, wallets and other items that can quickly be turned into cash.
