Saturday morning, surrounded by dozens of friends, family and community members, youngest son Gage cut the ribbon to officially open Robyn’s Garden. The garden is a memorial to his late mother, Robyn Sebesta Peltier, who died in August after a seven-year battle with cancer.

Robyn Sebesta Peltier was a founding member of the Danbury ISD Education Foundation, and she always gave to students, friends say. She died in August after a long battle with cancer, and funds donated to the foundation in her honor will memorialize her through “Robyn’s Garden” at the new elementary school.

Jimbo McCall prefers to be the one giving help to others, rather than the one receiving it. But in the wake of the late September fire that destroyed his house, he and his son Jace have been on the receiving end of a lot of community support.

Mexcor International Wines and Spirits donated 210 cases of hand sanitizer and three cases of disinfecting wipes to Danbury ISD, valued at $50,589.60. All supplies were distributed to each district campus Monday afternoon.
