WEST COLUMBIA — In a game full of turnovers and off-the-mark shooting, Columbia managed to grind out a home win Tuesday night against rival and district opponent Sweeny, 54-51.

Both teams were playing in their first game after a long lay-off for the holiday break, and the coaches acknowledged rust could have been a factor.
