A former Clute councilman and dedicated public servant left a lasting legacy of kindness and hard work seen by close friends and community members alike.

The absence of sound coming out of the mouths of the Angleton High School choir students might have been unusual when they met for class Monday, but they were the perfect note for the news they had just received.


Dr. David Barr has had to turn back time at his practice on 229 Parking Way St. since Hurricane Nicholas left his office powerless since Tuesday morning.


Many residents countywide are bringing each other back up in the wake of Hurricane Nicholas’ landfall earlier this week. From debris cleanup to cooking homemade meals, throughout the past several days the community has been there for its own.
