The organizations sold barbecue plates, baked goods and event T-shirts at the former H-E-B store in Lake Jackson and Arlan’s Market in Freeport. The event raised $7,000 to be donated to The Mermaid Project at CHI St. Luke’s Health Brazosport in Lake Jackson, which provides mammograms to low-income residents.
